Destinations news Crete Unveils New Tourism Identity At ITB 2014 by GTP editing team 6 March 2014 written by GTP editing team 6 March 2014 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 16 The Region of Crete has unveiled a new tourism identity that reflects the values that make the island a unique destination for visitors: sea, authentic flavors, hospitality and history. The new logo was unveiled by the governor of the Region, Stavros Arnaoutakis, on 6 March at the region’s stand at the ITB tourism exhibition in Berlin. The new logo – accompanied by the tag line “The island inside you” – has four different colors that represent different characteristics of Crete: blue for the sky, whether winter or summer, and Cretan sea; green for the olive groves and their oil, the trees and their shadows, the vineyards and their wine; orange-red for the warmth of the locals, the island’s history, the gifts of fertile land and the magic of the sun; and light blue for the island’s crystal waters and the sea shells. “Four touches of colors in the Mediterranean for the island of four seasons and all senses… This is Crete, the island within you,” the region’s governor said to Greeks and Germans during the unveiling.
