Herod_Atticus_Theater_16_2The Tourism Ministry, the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) and the Athens Festival have decided to launch a cooperation to promote Greece abroad through the Greek festival’s program of events.

This was decided during a meeting held on 19 March between Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni and the festival’s director Giorgos Loukos.

The aim is to further promote the Athens Festival and attract foreign visitors who will come to Greece to attend the festival’s shows.

The Athens Festival will be promoted through the GNTO’s international network. Promotional actions also will include the hosting of foreign journalists in Greece.

The Greek tourism ministry has also agreed to participate in efforts that aim to highlight the ancient theaters of the country that host the Greek festival’s musical, theatrical and other artistic events.

According to Mrs. Kefalogianni, the meeting she held with Mr. Loukos was the start of a new systematic collaboration that will benefit the tourism ministry, the GNTO and the Athens Festival.
