KLM Allows Portable Electronic Devices To Be Used On Board

KLM Royal Dutch AirlinesAs of 1 April, KLM will allow the use of portable electronic devices (PED) during all phases of the flight, according to an announcement.

ipad_airplane_KLMAny equipment operating with an antenna still must be set in “flight mode” whenever the aircraft doors are closed.

Portable electronic devices include smartphones, tablets, e-readers, camera’s and small handheld game consoles.

“This provides more convenience for our customers, as use is currently prohibited during take-off and landing,” KLM said.

KLM’s announcement is in alignment with Air France, with whom the use of PED’s during the whole flight has also been recently implemented.
