Company updates KLM Allows Portable Electronic Devices To Be Used On Board by GTP editing team 28 March 2014 written by GTP editing team 28 March 2014 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 5 As of 1 April, KLM will allow the use of portable electronic devices (PED) during all phases of the flight, according to an announcement. Any equipment operating with an antenna still must be set in “flight mode” whenever the aircraft doors are closed. Portable electronic devices include smartphones, tablets, e-readers, camera’s and small handheld game consoles. “This provides more convenience for our customers, as use is currently prohibited during take-off and landing,” KLM said. KLM’s announcement is in alignment with Air France, with whom the use of PED’s during the whole flight has also been recently implemented.
