To highlight the news, a series of cultural events have been announced to take place throughout Greece. Photo: nationalopera.gr Athens Greek National Opera 5pm – The Greek National Opera’s Children’s Choir will give a unique concert with works by Britten, Mozart, Hadjidakis, etc., under the direction of chorus mistress Mata Katsouli, at the Propylaea of the Acropolis (within the archaeological site of the Acropolis). 6pm – The students of the Greek National Opera’s Professional Dance School will present improvisations in the courtyard of the Byzantine and Christian Museum. Piano: Theodoris Reglis. 7pm – Soloists of the Greek National Opera Georgia Iliopoulou (soprano) and Dimitris Paksoglou (tenor) will perform popular arias and favorites duets of composers Rossini, Verdi, Puccini, Lehar, etc, in the “Hall of the Altar” of the National Archaeological Museum in Athens. Piano: Sofia Tamvakopoulou. Thessaloniki 7pm – Concert of the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra in the atrium of the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki. Concert by the Symphony Orchestra of the Municipality of Thessaloniki at the Museum of Byzantine Culture. Delphi Concert featuring traditional instruments of the Parnassos area and traditional dances of the “Chorostasi” club at the entrance of the Delphi Archaeological Museum. Olympia Piano Recital by Kostoula Sakka in the atrium of the Museum of Ancient Olympia. Sparta Concert by the Sparta Philharmonic at the entrance of the Archaeological Site of Mystras. Nafplion Concert Choir under the direction of maestro Theodosis Antoniadis at the Palamidi Fortress. Delos Music event in the courtyard of the Archaeological Museum of Mykonos. Mycenae Music event at the entrance of the archaeological site. Epidaurus Traditional dances at the entrance of the archaeological site. Rhodes 7pm – Concert of the Philharmonic at the Grand Masters Palace. Corfu Concert at the entrance of the Museum of Asian Art. Santorini Piano recital of Myrto Asimakopoulou at the entrance of the Archaeological Site of Akrotiri. Heraklion Concert of the Heraklion Municipal Philharmonic Orchestra at the entrance of the Archaeological Site of Knossos. Lasithi Music event on Spinalonga and boat ride to the island.
