This is just one of the actions the tourism committee of the Region of South Aegean recently decided in order to boost tourist traffic to the region’s islands this season. The actions include promotion of the South Aegean islands through the organization of media trips for journalists and familiarization trips for leading tour operators. The region will also offer its support to the new Rhodes-Istanbul route of Turkish airline Bora Jet. 2014: “Year of Culture” For South Aegean Islands Εvents to develop cultural tourism on the South Aegean islands will also be launched as 2014 has been declared by the Region as the “Year of Culture.” The region aims for this year’s tourism season to be even better than 2013 for the islands of the South Aegean.
