Although domestic tourism is in a continuous drop, incoming tourism to Greece seems to be looking at a recovery as the number of foreign tourists is seen to be increasing by 10 percent compared with last year.Greece’s ferry service has resumed throughout the country as the Pan-Hellenic Seamen’s Federation (PNO) has suspended its strike launched on 31 March.

According to an announcement by PNO, Greek seamen will participate in a 24-hour general strike set for Wednesday 9 April by the General Confederation of Greek Workers (GSEE).

The Greek seamen are protesting against measures included in a new multi-bill of economic reforms demanded by the Greece’s lenders in return for continued rescue loans.

Among other demands, the maritime workers are requesting for the cancellation of a measure involving their labor contracts. They are also asking for the withdrawal of the bill on tourism ships.
