According to an announcement by PNO, Greek seamen will participate in a 24-hour general strike set for Wednesday 9 April by the General Confederation of Greek Workers (GSEE). The Greek seamen are protesting against measures included in a new multi-bill of economic reforms demanded by the Greece’s lenders in return for continued rescue loans. Among other demands, the maritime workers are requesting for the cancellation of a measure involving their labor contracts. They are also asking for the withdrawal of the bill on tourism ships.
