In an announcement, the Greek company said it was in cooperation with the Greek Ministry of Infrastructure, Transport and Networks and has already submitted proposals for the creation of waterways in seven lakes, which include Trichonida Lake in Agrinio, Vegoritida Lake in Amynteo, Pamvotida Lake in Ioannina, Kaifa Lake in Zacharo-Ilia, Polyfyto Lake in Kozani, Kerkini Lake in Serres and Prespa Lake in Florina. “The creation of a waterways network and development of transport via seaplanes in Greece is now a fact and we will try to cover all destinations including those with Greek lakes,” the company’s President and CEO, Nikolas Charalambous, said in an announcement. After Easter, Hellenic Seaplanes will submit proposals to create waterways also in the Greek lakes of Plastira, Kastoria, Vistonida and Volvi. The company’s ultimate plan is to create waterways for seaplane connections between several Greek islands, mainland ports and, now, lakes where current transport links are difficult.
