Low-cost airline transavia.com has added its 16th Greek destination to its portfolio with the opening of the Thessaloniki-Amsterdam route on 17 April. The flight operates three times a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

The opening of the Thessaloniki-Amsterdam route is part of transavia.com’s strategy to strengthen its presence in Greece and make the Netherlands directly accessible out of Thessaloniki, an announcement read.

Thanks to the new direct link, the Dutch will have the opportunity to discover Thessaloniki, an enchanting region of Greece that has beautiful beaches and coasts, excellent cuisine and an amazing historic World heritage. The new route will also give Greeks the chance to experience Amsterdam, the second hippest city rated by Lonely Planet 2013.

The launch rate for Thessaloniki-Amsterdam begins from 70 euros one way plus five euros booking fee.

transavia.com currently flies to 160 destinations from the Netherlands and France. In Greece it now serves the airports of Athens, Corfu, Chania, Kefalonia, Heraklion, Chios, Santorini, Kos, Kalamata, Lesvos, Preveza, Rhodes, Samos and Zakynthos with direct flights to the Netherlands (Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Eindhoven) and France (Paris, Nantes and Lyon).

transavia.com carries some 9,5 million passengers each year.
