Greeks Plan To Travel Abroad For May Day Holiday

Greeks are making plans to take a long weekend “escape” mainly to cities abroad for the upcoming May Day holiday, a recent survey said.

According to the Trivago booking and price comparison site, for this year’s May Day holiday, Greeks are opting for Rome, Italy, and London, UK, to take a four-day vacation.

Thessaloniki is third on the Greeks’ destination preference list and ranks first among the most popular Greek destinations. Other Greek destinations in the Top 10 include Athens and Perissa, Santorini.

The 25 most popular last minute city break destinations for the Greeks, based on consumer searches for trips for the 1-4 May 2014 period, are the following:

6. Paris

8. Amsterdam
9. Barcelona
10. Perissa, Santorini
11. Milan
12. Vienna
13. Florence

The consumer searches took place during the 1 January – 13 April 2014 period.
