Messinia is a Greek region particularly rich in culinary tradition and quality raw materials. Photo: kalamatacvb.gr The gastronomy seminar will be held 5-7 May 2014 by the Captain Vassilis Foundation and the Messinian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and under the auspices of Athinorama magazine and the Chrysos Skoufos (Golden Cap) awards. The three-day seminar is expected to be a great learning experience for food service professionals of Messinia who will receive valuable advise and knowledge from key professionals such as Nena Ismyrnoglou, Lefteris Lazarou and Doxis Bekris. The three distinguished chefs will present Messinian recipes and recognized experts in the field of gastronomy will give practical advice. Photo: kalamatacvb.gr Some 150 food service professionals of the region of Messinia are expected to attend the gastronomy seminar. The duration of each seminar will be three hours and include theory, practice and food tasting. The main aim of the seminar is to promote the region’s local products, local flavors and improve the area’s tourism product. The three-day seminar will take place at Navarino Dunes in Costa Navarino and is open exclusively to professional cooks, chefs and restaurant/hotel owners.
