Actions will included the promotion of Thessaloniki’s gastronomy on the airline’s in-flight meals. Sky Express also said it would promote “island hopping” packages to encourage tourists holidaying at other Greek destinations (Skiathos, for example) to make a short visit Thessaloniki. “This will make those tourists future visitors of Thessaloniki,” Mr. Lidakis explained. He added that the “island hopping” package concept is something useful for travel agents and hoteliers. The Cretan airline will also promote Thessaloniki through the European Youth Capital initiative possibly by launching package deals for young people interested in attending the events in the Greek northern city.
