Austrians Opt For Greece Even At The “Last Minute”

Greece tops the list of the 10 most popular tourism destinations for the Austrians this year, the Austrian Tourism Press Association said in a recent announcement.

The association underlined that Greece also ranks first for Austrian travelers who prefer to book their holidays at the “last minute.”

More into the announcement, Greece ranks first among tourism destinations for summer 2014 in general and is followed by Turkey, Spain, Italy, Croatia, USA, Egypt, France, the United Kingdom and Tunisia.

However, Greece also leads the list of favorite island destinations for last-minute bookings and is followed by the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, the Maldives and Mauritius.

The Austrian press frequently mentions that Greece is the ideal place to holiday this summer. According to Austrian press reports, nearly 500,000 Austrians visit Greece every year.
