As part of their acquaintance with Athens, the travel agents attended organized tours to the Greek capital’s key attractions and were treated to Greek cuisine by the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO). The travel agents from Croatia also attended an event held for Greek tourism professionals in Athens and sponsored by Athens International Airport, on the occasion of the recent launch of a direct flight of Croatia Airlines connecting Split to the Greek capital. The event was attended by Dr Ivan Velimir Starcevic, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Greece; Kresimir Kucko, President and CEO of Croatia Airlines; Josko Stella, Director of the Tourism Organization of Split and Dalmatian province; Zlatan Muftic, Convention Bureau Director at Zagreb Tourist Board & Convention Bureau; and Ioanna Papadopoulou, Director of Communications and Marketing at Athens International Airport. The national airline of Croatia now flies once a week from Split, the largest city in the Croatian region of Dalmatia, to the Greek capital via A319 (144-seat capacity) and A320 (174-seat capacity) aircraft every Saturday at 6:30 pm. Croatia Airlines also connects Athens to Dubrovnik and Zagreb every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. The airline will seize the routes in October.
