Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras visited the stand of Qatar Airways, the State of Qatar’s national airline, during his tour of the international shipping exhibition Posidonia 2014 at the opening ceremony held on 2 June.

The Greek Premier, accompanied by Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni, Shipping Minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis and Posidonia Exhibitions Chairman Themistocles Vokos, was welcomed to the airline’s stand by Qatar Airways Cabin Crew with the traditional dates, symbol of the Middle East hospitality.

The Posidonia exhibition, this year with more than 19,000 executives from the Greek and international shipping communities, will run until 6 June at the Athens Metropolitan Expo.

The Qatar Airways Greek sales team, led by Alexandros Michalopoulos, commercial manager for Greece and Cyprus, has been meeting with corporate buyers from across the world.

“We are delighted to participate in the world’s premier shipping event again this year, as there is an extremely high quality of corporate buyers and key industry figures,” Mr. Michalopoulos said in an announcement.

The stand of Qatar Airways can be found at Hall 1 stand 1.315.

Qatar Airways flies a modern fleet of 134 aircraft to 141 key business and leisure destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North America and South America. Over the next few months, the network will grow further with new routes to Miami, USA (10 June), Tokyo Haneda, Japan (18 June), Dallas/Fort Worth, USA (1 July) and Djibouti (27 July).
