Photo © GTP Athens is preparing for this year’s “Oscars of the travel industry,” the World Travel Awards, which will be hosted in Greece for the first time since their establishment in 1993. Photo © Divani Collection Hotels “In what promises to be the best in Athens, we’ll celebrate the best of the travel industry,” Graham E Cooke, WTA President & Founder, said in a video message during a recent media event held at the Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso in the Greek capital. As announced at the media event, the events centered around the 21st World Travel Awards will last three days (1-3 August) and offered in conjunction with host Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso. The Three-Day Experience In Greece will include an organized tour around the Greek capital Athens and a cruise around the Saronic Gulf. The World Travel Awards Europe Gala Ceremony 2014 will be held on 2 August at Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso in partnership with the Greek Tourism Ministry, the Greek National Tourism Organisation, the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises and Divani Collection Hotels. Senior representatives from Europe’s finest travel brands are scheduled to attend WTA’s Europe Gala Ceremony 2014 as they vie to win the most coveted accolade in the industry.
