Goldair_2a Goldair Handling, a Greek leading ground handling provider, has expanded its services to Ethiopia’s airport in Addis Ababa following a six-year agreement launched with Ethiopian private company ICAS (International Cargo & Aviation Services).

According to the agreement, Goldair Handling undertakes the management and staff training for the airport in Addis Ababa. Until the process is completed, Goldair will use personnel from Greece.

Additionally, Goldair Handling has taken on the ground handling services for Singapore Airlines and Gulf Air at Athens International Airport (AIA) in Greece. With the addition of these airlines in its portfolio, Goldair’s market share AIA increases by 80 percent.

Singapore Airlines, the national carrier of Singapore, resumed its direct flights from Singapore to Athens on 9 June and will operate two weekly direct flights between the two cities until 9 October. Bahrain’s national carrier, Gulf Air, relaunched operations to the Greek capital on 16 June and will operate four weekly flights to Athens Airport.

Goldair Handling operates in 26 Greek airports, two airports in Cyprus (Larnaca & Paphos) and three airports in Bulgaria (Sofia, Burgas and Varna). Last year, Goldair handled more than 67,000 flights, 10 million passengers and 37,000 tons of cargo.
