During the three-day press trip, held 13-16 June, the foreign journalists were introduced to the island’s eye-catching landscapes, traditional architecture, rugged natural monuments and pure Greek island atmosphere.

The group of accredited journalists included Liu Yongqiu and Alexia Vlachou from Xinhua News Agency in China; Yury Malinov from Itar Tass News Agency in Russia; and Elisa Hübel of Swiss newspaper Neue Zürcher Zeitung.

The journalists toured the island’s beaches, churches and monasteries; visited the areas of Glossa, Panormos and Skopelos Town; and sampled local products, met local producers and traditional craftspeople. The press trip also included a visit to the Northern Sporades water park and Alonissos Island.

Skopelos_Holidays_1According to the president of “Spyrou Hotels,” Vassilis Spyrou, such actions offer a huge growth potential to the destination’s tourism.

“The partnership of state and society-entrepreneurs has brought remarkable results in this field. The aim of Spyrou Hotels, in collaboration with anyone who wishes to contribute, is to continue such actions that have proven to be very beneficial,” he added.

The journalists resided at the Skopelos Holidays Hotel & Spa.
