The tourism bill recently passed the committee stage in Greek Parliament. According to reports, among other things, the amendment notes the definitions of all agritourism-related activities, names relevant products and services and defines the types of businesses and accommodation units that can practice the alternative form of tourism. The amendement also notes the process a Greek enterprise will need to follow to receive a license and obtain the special agritourism seal in order to operate as an agritourism establishment. Other changes to the bill involve the fines for the illegal operation of hotels and for companies that do not provide the services they advertise. The final text of the Greek tourism bill will be discussed by the 100-member summer session of Parliament.
