Russian_passports_1Russian tour operator Intaer announced on 5 August that it is suspending all activities due to the inability to meet its obligations to customers. This is the fifth Russian tour operator to go bankrupt since mid-July, following Roza Vetrov Mir, Neva Company, Expotour and, more recently, Labirint.

According to reports, some 10,000 Russians had booked holidays to Greece via Intaer. It is estimated that some 500 customers of the tour operator are currently in Greece, mainly on the islands of Corfu, Rhodes and Crete.

Itar-Tass news agency reported that Russian Tourist Union spokeswoman Irina Tyurina said “the number of tourists who will be affected will not be so large as was the case with Neva or Labirint travel agencies.”

Some 15,000 Russian tourists who have bought travel services from Labirint are currently waiting for their return to Russia.
