Since 2 August more than 20,000 Russians have been stranded in countries abroad including Greece, Cyprus, Spain and Bulgaria, without a return ticket.

According to reports, Russian travel fund Turpomosch managed to get some 9,500 travelers home from these countries via unscheduled flights from 2 to 6 August.

On 7 August unscheduled flights from Thessaloniki, Heraklio, Rhodes, Barcelona, Burgas, Kos and Efinda departed for Russia.

Turpomosch expects to have all stranded Russian tourists back home by 12 August. According to reports, until yesterday, the cost of the unscheduled flights had reached 35 million rubles.
