Entitled “Chios is the most magical Greek Island you didn’t know existed,” the Huffington Post reveals that the island is most famous for its production of mastic, an aromatic resin that forms in teardrop shapes that comes from trees growing in the fertile Mastihohoria region. The Huffington Post then refers to the products of mastic that are produced on Chios and introduces Pyrgi, the island’s largest mastic village that features buildings adorned with geometric patterns, called graffito.
