An Aegean Airlines delegation, led by the company’s vice president Eftychios Vasilakis, arrived in Cyprus on 25 August for talks with the government about the possible takeover of loss-making carrier Cyprus Airways.

The talks had kicked off on Friday 22 August with Ryanair’s chief executive Michael O’Leary.

A total of 15 suitors are interested in Cyprus Airways.

Investors interested in submitting proposals for Cyprus Airways have until the end of August to do so. A shortlist of those submitting non-binding proposals will be drawn up at the end of September.
