Event News “The Game Goes On” At The 79th International Fair Of Thessaloniki, Greece by GTP editing team 29 August 2014 written by GTP editing team 29 August 2014 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 7 With “The Game…Goes On!” as its central slogan, the 79th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) will be held 6-14 September 2014 at the city’s international exhibition center. The 79th TIF has been enriched with new thematic events and numerous activities, taking place with the participation of chambers and productive agencies from all around Greece. This year’s TIF will host an exhibition by CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, as well as the Chocolate Factory & Museum, a theme park that will remain in operation at Pavilion 1 for six whole months. This will also be the first year that a special thematic event about Orthodoxy will be held, hosting, among others, the museum of the Holy Metropolis of Thessaloniki. Greek gastronomy The sector of food and beverages through FARMA, a thematic event, and, the Exhibition of Greek Food and Beverages titled “Flavors of Greece” (Pavilion 2) will hold once again a leading position in TIF. At the same time, the “Gastronomy Corner” (Pavilion 7) will showcase Greek Gastronomy, combining traditional Greek flavors with modern cuisine. There will be a major event dedicated to Cretan tradition, nutrition and the culture of the island (Pavilion 4), while the presence of the Chamber of Serres (Pavilion 12) will also be significant. Special events also include “AUTO-MOTION” and “ENERGIA,” as well as “My Life in the City,” a 3,000 m2 area where visitors will be able to meet Thessaloniki enterprises and professionals up close (Pavilion 16). Furthermore, for a second year, Google Developers Group (GDG) Thessaloniki will bring fair visitors in touch with the community of Google programmers and the applications-tools they use. Parallel events There will also be a large number of parallel events at the 79th TIF, including concerts with famous artists at the MAD North Stage Festival, the RETRObit Exhibition of Collectible Computers and Game Consoles, organised by retroclub.info, and a special event for children with numerous shows, games and surprises. So… “The Game…Goes On!” and is expected to be really exciting at the 79th Thessaloniki International Fair! The fair, hosted every September, has a venerable modern history dating to 1926, with approximately 300,000 visitors in its 10 days duration.
