Millions of television viewers will soon have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with Athens and a range of unique, high quality experiences available to luxury-minded travelers.

Inside Luxury TravelMarketing Greece recently arranged for the television program Inside Luxury Travel, headed by presenter-producer Varun Sharma, to visit Athens. The program addresses affluent travelers, a key target group for Marketing Greece whose mission encompasses a strategic goal to increase the number of high-spend visitors.

Sharma and his crew spent a week in the Greek capital, where he partook in and showcased a selection of exclusive experiences.

Specifically, an entire episode of Inside Luxury Travel was filmed between September 14 and 20, within the framework of efforts to develop Athens’ profile as a luxury destination.

ath_hotels_spaInside Luxury Travel, one of Travel Channel’s most popular series, is aired in 122 countries in 21 languages and each episode focuses on one destination and experiences that embody refined sophistication. The show will also highlight an extensive network of superior Greek tourism enterprises, products and services, in terms of accommodation, gastronomy, shopping, entertainment and attractions, along with the magic of the Athens Riviera.

A series of enterprises actively supported the Marketing Greece initiative. Sponsors included Aegean Airlines, Athens International Airport, Athens-Attica & Argosaronic Hotel Association and Hotel Grande Bretagne. Active supporters included Master of Wine Konstantinos Lazarakis, Atalanta Golden Yachts, Maroulis Travel and Mercedes Taxi Club.
