Athens International Airport (AIA) received significant environmental distinctions at the recent 2014 European Business Awards for the Environment, organized by the Greek Federation of Environmental Companies (PASEPPE).

AIA received the first place award in the Management category, while for its actions and programs for the protection of the ecosystems in the Messogeia area (where the airport is located) it was honored with an award for Biodiversity.

As national coordinator, PASSEPE organizes the European Business Awards for the Environment in Greece on behalf of the European Committee. The Evaluation Committee includes members of academia and national research institutes.

Environmental publication “Care for the Environment”
The latest edition of AIA’s annual publication Care for the Environment, which describes in detail the airport’s environmental activities in 2013, is available here.
