The heart pillow is a soft shaped pillow made in the shape of a heart, designed to sooth the pain and discomfort women feel following surgery from cancer. Heart pillows are given to patients during the first postoperative stage, greatly helping to a faster recovery. Since 2012, Coco-Mat has offered 2,500 heart cushions to patients in public hospitals and breast centers in Greece and abroad. This year, the heart pillow is provided for free to patients undergoing breast cancer surgery in the following eight hospitals in Greece: “Agios Savvas” General Oncological Hospital, “Agioi Anargyri” General Oncological Hospital Kifissia, “Ippokration” Athens General Hospital, PAGNI University Oncological Hospital Herakleion Crete, “METAXA” Specialized Oncological Hospital Piraeus, “Panagia I Voithia” General University Hospital Patras, “THEAGENEIO” Thessaloniki Oncological Hospital and “IASO” private hospital. In collaboration with FAWCO’s American Women Clubs, Coco-Mat is now supporting the heart pillow project internationally in the following cities: Antwerp, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Paris, Milan, Berlin, Dusseldorf and Hamburg. 1 sleeping pillow = 1 heart pillow From October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, those interested can support the project through their purchases. For every purchase of a Coco-Mat sleeping pillow, the company will donate a heart pillow to benefit women and men BC surgery patients in Greece and internationally. Moreover, during 1-15 October, all Coco-Mat stores in Greece and abroad will support the project by organizing pillow making events where those interested can create their own personal pillow and buy it at a promotional price.
