Skorpios is the island where Jacqueline Kennedy married Greek shipping tycoon, Aristotle Onassis.

The island bought by the shipping billionaire Aristotle Onassis in the 1960s and which was also the scene of his wedding to Jacqueline Kennedy, Scorpios in Greece, was included among the Top 10 millionaires’ paradise islands in the world by The Telegraph.

As Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg buys his own “slice of paradise” in Hawaii, the British newspaper put together a Top 10 of the world’s most fabulous “millionaire playgrounds,” where the rich and famous go to get away from it all.

In regards to the Greek island, The Telegraph notes that Scorpios is now owned by the granddaughter of Aristotle Onassis, Athina, who attempted to sell it to the Russian heiress Ekaterina Rybolovleva for $300 million (£188 million) last year.

“But the sale has been held up by the Greek government, as under the terms of Aristotle’s will it must be in the Onassis family or pass into public ownership,” The Telegraph informs.

A little more research would have shown that Rybolovlev has indeed secured Scorpios for his daughter with an either 100 or 1000 year lease, thus by-passing Onassis’ will.
