Dr. Christos PallisPhiloxenia 2014 greeting.

Undoubtedly 2014 is the year of the revival of tourism in Greece. This year proves that our efforts are flourishing. The recent statistics show that our country is gradually reclaiming its rightful place within the international tourism market.

Everyone in Greece now recognizes that tourism is the sector of the economy and that its activity could support the country, contribute the country’s economy and lead to many jobs.

Our highest priority for 2015 is to specify the objectives and actions to implement the national strategic development plan for tourism.

The experience of Greece is constituted by a composition of tourist assets: the cultural and natural landscape, the beaches, the sun, the hotels and resorts, the events and the other attractions but also by the broader context, which includes the level and quality of services, the opportunities for recreational and cultural activities, and a lot more.

The International Tourism Exhibition Philoxenia 2014 gives an important opportunity for business meetings and workshops between all relevant parties that focus on the development and progress of Greek tourism.

I would like to express my deepest esteem to every initiative, such as the 30th Philoxenia, that aims to convey the brand name of Greece and to promote the sustainable development of tourism.
