Company updates Aegean Airlines Will Fly to 134 Destinations In 2015 by GTP editing team 18 November 2014 written by GTP editing team 18 November 2014 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 17 Greek carrier Aegean Airlines will operate flights to 134 destinations next year, according to its new flight schedule for 2015 that was announced on 18 November at a press conference held in Heraklion, Crete. In 2015, the carrier will fly to 34 international and 100 domestic destinations in 42 countries and Greece, with 15 million seats available (7.7 million for 100 destinations abroad and 7.3 million for 34 domestic destinations), two million more than in 2014. Aegean’s fleet now consists of 56 aircraft, after the recent investment in additional new Airbus A320ceos. Aegean’s network sees the addition of 10 countries (the Netherlands, Malta, Kuwait, Finland, Saudi Arabia, Estonia, Norway, Iran, Armenia and Croatia) and 16 international destinations (Helsinki, Toulouse, Deauville, Metz, Naples, Pisa, Malta, Amsterdam, Kuwait, Paphos, Riyadh, Tallinn, Oslo, Tehran, Dubrovnik, Yerevan). The airline also intends to increase the number of destinations and frequencies to tourism markets that are important to Greece such as France, Italy, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Germany. The new flight schedule will also strengthen Aegean’s activity in Middle Eastern, wider North African and Eastern countries (Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Israel, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iran). More flights from Athens and Heraklion In an aim to open to new markets in new countries and to new cities in traditional markets and expand the tourism season in the Greek capital, next year the airline will add 15 new destinations and nine new countries to its Athens network. Overall, Aegean will link the Greek capital to 91 destinations (61 international and 30 domestic) for which 11.5 million seats will be available. In addition, next year the airline will launch direct flights from Heraklion, Crete, to 44 international destinations in 21 countries. In 2015 the airline will aim to increase scheduled flights, while 1.95 million seats will be available, 21 percent more than in 2014. Flights are also expected to increase from Aegean’s other six bases in Rhodes, Corfu, Crete, Kos, Larnaca and Kalamata. The airline will also increase frequencies, capacity and connections to Greek islands such as Naxos, Milos and Paros. “12 months 12 good news for you” During the press conference, Aegean’s new program “12 months 12 good news for you” was announced. The new program sees the company presenting a new product or a new service for every month of 2015.
