Crete’s Heraklion Port Authority was awarded for its public management at this year’s “Disrupt, Startup, ScaleUP” conference held at the Athens Concert Hall on 15-16 November, officially launching Global Entrepreneurship Week.

Organized by Industry Disruptors – Game Changers (ID-GC) under the auspices of UNESCO with the support of the US Embassy in Athens and the British Council, the event focuses on innovation and entrepreneurship and the creation of partnerships in tourism, ICT, creative industries, health, clean tech and agribusiness.

The Heraklion Port Authority was awarded for its Best Practices in Pubic Management based on its strategy, work accomplished and the implementation of its long-term plan.

After the award, the port authority said that it is committed to continuing its efforts to achieve effectiveness, efficiency and modernization, providing customers, visitors and users the best quality services while promoting Crete and Heraklion as innovators and Greek culture and civilization.

ID-GC is a non-profit/non-governmental organization aiming to promote entrepreneurship in Greece, southeast Europe and east Mediterranean regions.
