The fifth edition of the “Sympossio-Greek Gourmet Touring” initiative recently wrapped up its culinary journey in Western and Eastern Europe.

The 5th Sympossio launched in February 2014 in Stockholm, Sweden, at the 1st Grekland Panorama travel and taste fair and completed its journey this month in London and Manchester in the United Kingdom.

The aim was to give the European tourism industry a vibrant and tasteful image of today’s Greece: a Greece that produces, creates and mainly shares.

The Greek gourmet tour visited 15 cities in Western and Eastern Europe: Stockholm, Pesaro, Rome, Naples, Bari, Milan, Turin, St. Petersburg, Rostov, Kazan, Tyumen, Izhevsk, Kiev, London, Manchester.

This year’s Sympossio focused on the Greek drink ouzo and the ouzeri, a place where Greeks meet up to eat, drink and enjoy good conversation.

The Sympossio Greek Gourmet Touring is an initiative of Aldemar Resorts that aims to promote Greece’s products and gastronomic culture, along with a positive image of the country.

The 5th Sympossio was supported by the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) for the fourth year.
