The annual certification will initially be given to accommodation services. Tourist sector professionals attended the launch of “Local Production & Hospitality”, a company owned by Giannis Vardinogiannis, on Thursday on ANEK Lines passenger ferry Kriti I, during which the first “We Do Local” certifications were awarded to Cretan tourism ventures. In collaboration with accreditation body Cosmocert, social cooperative Local Food and Local Production & Hospitality, a certification standard titled “We Do Local” aims to promote local culture and cuisine, support local producers and human resources and respect the environment. The following companies were the first to get certification: ANEK Lines ΚΡΗΤΗ I, Bluegr Minos Beach Art Hotel, Bluegr Sensimar Minos Palace, Bluegr Candia Park Village, Cactus Royal Spa & Resort, Creta Maris Beach Resort, Apollonia Beach Hotel, Santa Marina Hotel, Sitia Beach Hotel, Enagron Cretan Ecotourism Village, Cavo Spada Luxury Resort & Spa, Santa Marina Beach Hotel, Grand Bay Beach Resort, Santa Marina Plaza Luxury Boutique Hotel, Lato Boutique Hotel, Minoa Palace Resort & Spa, Rethymno Mare and St. Nicolas Bay Resort Hotel & Villas.
