Lufthansa_777XThe pilots’ union Vereinigung Cockpit has announced strike action on Lufthansa long-haul flights from Germany on Thursday, 4 December. The strike will start at 3 am local German time (0200 GMT) and last until just after midnight.

Despite the labor action Lufthansa is able to offer about half of the scheduled long-haul flights to its passengers, an announcement read.

All Lufthansa short and medium – haul flights as well as flights operated by the Lufthansa Group airlines Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, GermanwingsSwiss and Air Dolomiti will not be affected.

Lufthansa has published a complete list of cancelled flights on its website. Passengers can change or cancel their flight free of charge.

Thursday’s strike follows a 36-hour walkout this past Monday to Wednesday that saw the cancellation of some 1,400 flights and disrupted travel for some 150,000 passengers.
