This annual event, established in 2013 by the Historic Hotels of Europe representing European historic hotel associations, rewards excellence with the aim to improve the quality of customer service and guest satisfaction.

YADESDescribing it as a celebration of “history and heritage”, Avdis went on to add that the awarded hotels “embody, each in their specific way, the qualities and standards set by the Historic Hotels of Europe: excellent hospitality with a passion to share their cultural heritage through innovative and authentic experiences. A real vision for the future”.

Last year, the Yades group’s Santorini-based Aigialos won the “Most Romantic Historic Hotel of Europe”. In 2013 the “Best Historic Hotel by the Water” went to the group’s Kyrimai in Mani. Besides Esperas, the group’s Avli hotel in Rethymno, Crete, was nominated among Fodor’s 100 Best Boutique Hotels.
