Goldair Cargo, part of Goldair Group, and Rail Cargo Logistics – Austria GmbH, part of the Rail Cargo Group, have partnered and launched a new company that will offer services in the rail freight market.

Rai-Cargo-Logistics-GoldairThe new company “Rail Cargo Logistics – Goldair” will absorb the Austrian company’s existing operations in Greece (Express-Interfracht) and offer transport of goods by rail with all types of wagons (conventional, tank containers, wagons for bulk goods, etc.) in order to fully cover the transport of products from Central and Northern Europe to Greece and vice versa.

The expertise of Rail Cargo Logistics and the abundance of machinery (620 locomotives and over 26,200 wagons of all types), combined with the experience and locality of Goldair, a Greek company that has been engaged in international transport and logistics for decades, will allow for new alternative forms of transporting goods, ensuring competitive prices and added value to the transported products.

Moreover, the partnership aims to promote Greece as a transit center in Southeast Europe and aspires to play an important role in the transport of transit cargo by train, using the ports of Piraeus and Thessaloniki as gateways to transfer goods from third countries destined for Central Europe and vice versa.
