Grande_Bretagne_PAN_0016Grande_Bretagne_PAN_0755Athens’ Grande Bretagne Hotel ushered in the holiday season with the lighting of its Christmas tree recently in its festively decorated lobby.

Hotel guests and visitors joined in the holiday cheer when the hotel’s management lit the Christmas tree which was dressed in thousands of lights and adorned with 600 handmade lace ornaments crafted by Greek designer Celia Kritharioti, who also supervised the hotel’s holiday décor.

As part of its ongoing corporate responsibility program and in the Christmas spirit, Grande Bretagne Hotel is launching as of 21 December and for the next three months its kindness campaign. For every purchase at the GB Roof Garden restaurant, an added one euro will go towards the activities of NGO “The Friends of Merimna”.

The Grande Bretagne in central Athens is part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts-managed “The Luxury Collection” hotel chain.
