Athens is slowly but steadily making its way back into the international travel spotlight thanks to a group of young Greek entrepreneurs who are using novel start-ups to boost local production and bring in visitors.

Under the title “Athens Reborn”, Conde Nast Traveller says Greece is making tentative steps towards recovery, with a wave of young Athenian entrepreneurs “championing the capital’s revival with creative start-ups that focus on the affordable and authentic”.

Everything from affordable accessories from local designers and trendy hotspots to DIY hoteliers upgrading accommodation and the introduction of hip hostels, Conde Nast compares Athens to the mythical phoenix, which is reborn from its ashes.
