maid_hotelThe Greek Manpower Employment Organization (OAED) will run a four-month subsidy program for seasonal hotels in Greece so they can retain their staff during the winter.

According to a ministerial decision published in the Government Gazette, the program aims to preserve jobs in seasonal hotels during the winter season and in particular from November 1 until February 28.

The program is implemented under Article 8 of Law 1545/85 and the amount of the subsidy for each worker is said to be equal to the daily unemployment benefit.

Hotels that wish to enroll in the program must operate outside Athens and Thessaloniki, maintain the special seal of the Greek National Tourism Organization and have shut down during November 1-February 28 during at least two of the five previous winters.
