Over 100,000 visitors and 500 leading suppliers of the hospitality and greater foodservice industry are expected at the country’s largest annual meeting of the Greek economy’s driving sectors. Tourism and the catering sector remain strong and resilient even in times of political and economic instability, president and CEO of HORECA organizers, Forum SA, Nick Choudalakis underlined in a press statement. “The HORECA show aims to exhibit the steady improvement and the modernization of Greece’s tourism infrastructure, as well as the development of the food industry,” he added. This year HORECA will include a series of special parallel events to celebrate its tenth anniversary, including competitions, seminars, presentations and meetings that will give F&B professionals and hoteliers the chance to network, get inspired and create new connections. In the meantime, the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels (HCH) will hold its annual general assembly on the exhibition premises on February 6, and will also organize a special event dedicated to its ongoing “Greek Breakfast” initiative aimed at promoting destination-specific products. The Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE) will focus this year on culinary tourism with an open event on “Gastronomy in the Marketing of Greek Tourism”.
