Surveys, Trends & Stats Greece: International Visitors Spend More in Jan-Nov 2014 by GTP editing team 21 January 2015 written by GTP editing team 21 January 2015 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 10 In the first 11 months of 2014, travel spending in Greece reached 13.3 billion euros, up by 10.8 percent year-on-year, according to data released today by the Bank of Greece. Arrivals of non-residents for the same period were up by 22.7 percent and topped 21.5 million. Travel receipts last November increased by 30.7 percent, reflecting a significant rise of 53.9 percent in arrivals of non-residents. According to the data, during the first 11 months of 2014, revenue from incoming French tourists increased by 25.1 percent to 1,125 million euros, from British tourists by 15.1 percent to 1,543 million euros, from German tourists by 4.7 percent to 1,975 million euros and from American tourists by 15.1 percent to 644 million euros.The spending of Russian tourists dropped by 13.2 percent to 1,158 million euros. In regards to non-residents’ arrivals during January-November 2014, an 8.3 percent increase was recorded from Germany, a 27 percent increase from France, a 13.4 percent increase from the United Kingdom and a 27.8 percent increase from the United States.
