Greece’s Athos Area Promotes Honeymoon Travel in Sofia

Promoting the Athos region as a prime wedding/honeymoon destination topped the Mount Athos Area Organization’s agenda this week during the Balkanica Wedding Expo, which took place in Sofia.

The region’s tiny chapels and majestic churches, vast olive groves and sandy shores took center stage during the annual show, in efforts to attract newly-weds or the about-to-be-wed to the region, which can prove to be an ideal backdrop for romantic honeymoon getaways.

During a workshop at the event, the Mount Athos Area Organization informed wedding planners of the region’s offerings as a wedding/honeymoon tourism destination and added that there was great demand of package deals offered by local tour operators attending the show.
