Halkidiki authorities are reaching out to tourism sector professionals in neighboring Turkey, with the goal to cement existing ties with local operators and create long-lasting bonds that will pave the way for collaborations in tourism that will benefit both sides. In this direction they met with Turkey’s Young Businessmen Association (TUGIAD) to discuss the organization’s business interests. Halkidiki tourism professionals also had the chance to exchange ideas with colleagues during B2B meetings with tour operators from major regions in Turkey. In the meantime, Turkish tour operators ETS, Kappatur, Oba and Pronto working the Halkidiki region were awarded for their commitment (photo). Halkidiki authorities expect an increase in tourist arrivals from Turkey, this year, citing among others, Aegean Airlines’ direct charter flights from Ankara. In February, the Halkidiki Tourism Organization will participate in the Salon des Vacanses show in Brussels, Milan’s 2015 BIT, Grekland Panorama in Stockholm, Belgrade’s IFT and in the Holiday & Spa show in Sofia.
