The Lufthansa-owned airline will offer three weekly flights every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday from the German city to the Greek capital. Germanwings already operates direct flights to Athens from Cologne/Bonn and Stuttgart. The Cologne-based carrier will also add an extra flight from Dusseldorf to Spain’s Malaga, increasing its number of flights to three per week, a summer weekly flight to Jerez de la Frontera in Andalusia, and a weekly flight to Faro in southern Portugal.
