Surveys, Trends & Stats German Tour Operators give Greece the ‘Thumbs Up’ by GTP editing team 4 February 2015 written by GTP editing team 4 February 2015 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 6 German tour operators remain optimistic about the outlook for Greece bookings this year despite the widespread publicity about the policies of the new left-wing government that include stopping privatization in the transport and tourism sectors. Bookings to Greece have reached high double-digit growth rates, Alltours owner Willi Verhuven told German travel trade publication fvw. Alltours has a large Greece travel program. “The Greek renaissance could be a factor in the current weaker demand for Turkey,” he said. Mr. Verhuven also praised Greek hoteliers for improving the quality of their infrastructure through renovations. However, he warned that the increase in demand for Greece could lead to capacity problems and said that Alltours is currently securing additional hotel beds. “We expect that Greece could be booked out at some point. 2015 will be a real Greece year,” he told fvw. fvw is a leading source of information on German travel trade news.
