Lakonia_2Laconia will be among the Greek destinations that will present their “Greek Breakfast” menus at the 10th HORECA show scheduled to take place 6-9 February 2015 at the Metropolitan Expo in Spata.

Greek_Breakfast_englishThe “Greek Breakfast” program is an initiative of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, designed to promote and establish the country’s gastronomy through hotels in Greece.

Hoteliers throughout the country are encouraged to include authentic traditional recipes in their breakfast menus. In the long-run, the effort is expected to strengthen Greece’s identity and enrich the city’s tourism product.

At HORECA, Laconia will present its products and signature dishes at a special space reserved by the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels (HALL 4, stands A17-B17) on Sunday, February 8, at 12:00 – 13:00.

Visitors to Laconia’s stand will sample Monemvasia sausages, Ladotyri cheese from Neapolis, crunchy rusks with anise and mastic, pie with wild herbs and traditional fillo dough, Broustoulas (sheep and goat milk, groats, sweet trahanas, throubi, honey and traditional fillo dough), Petaritses (tiganites) with honey and cinnamon or touloumotyri cheese, freshly squeezed orange juice and much more.

Laconia is the first region of the Peloponnese that has officially joined the “Greek Breakfast” program.

The Laconia Hotel Association believes that this effort will assist to promote the identity of the Laconia hotel product to a wider audience.

” We believe that this effort will bring hoteliers and producers closer, stimulate the local economy and therefore serve as a tool to promote the tourism product of the region,” the association said in an announcement.

The local breakfast menus of Sifnos, Imathia, Phocis, Lefkada, Epirus and Zakynthos will also be presented at the hotel chamber’s stand during the HORECA show.
