We want to highlight the competitive advantages of Greek tourism, highlight all unique elements and give the sector its leading position in the development of the Greek economy,” Ms. Kountoura said. “You all, as key players in the tourism sector, have a key role in the image, quality and range of services… You must constantly improve your services and upgrade your quality to offer a good experience to every visitor of the country.” Ms. Kountoura added that the main goals of the ministry include strengthening the Greek tourist product and modernizing it in accordance to international trends, promoting the country in all foreign markets and enhancing infrastructure development based on a model that respects the environment. In addition, the minister said that the Economy, Infrastructure, Shipping and Tourism Ministry will cooperate with all relevant ministries to take corrective action and reboot the economy in order to support the country’s small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that “were and are the backbone of the Greek economy.” Photo source: Hellenic Chamber of Hotels Follow GTP Headlines on Google News to keep up to date with all the latest on tourism and travel in Greece.
