Posidonia Sea Tourism Forum Set For May

Posidonia_forum_1Cruising, yachting and coastal shipping will top the agenda of the 3rd Posidonia Sea Tourism Forum to be held in Athens on May 26-27.

The Posidonia event brings together sector professionals to evaluate new investment opportunities and meet industry decision-makers from Greece, the East Mediterranean and the Black Sea.

Participants include representatives from ports and destinations, hotels and resorts, airports, tourist service providers, technical support companies, sector publishers, new technologies as well as yacht managers and brokers, yacht interiors specialists to promote their business propositions and identify potential partners.

Subjects to be addressed include industry development and growth strategies in the East Mediterranean, European cruise market growth and demand for the region, itinerary planning, new destination development, innovation in shore excursion programs, port privatization, cruise marketing and sales, alternative port ownership and management structures, port infrastructure development and the new generation cruise ships, shore excursions and land programs design, pricing and profitability.

Yachting sessions will focus on changing the image of Greek yachting both domestically and internationally, marina privatization processes and private-public partnerships and the regulatory environment for yachting in Europe.

This year’s event will also feature a special session on coastal shipping to examine the sector’s challenges, assess potential partnerships and mergers and identify new investment opportunities.

On the occasion of the Posidonia Sea Tourism Forum, CLIA Europe will hold its biannual Executive Committee Meeting in Athens, thereby showing the importance the region has for the cruise industry.
