According to ministry insiders as cited by Greek daily Kathimerini, the ministry is drawing up a draft law focusing on growth. Priorities include increasing GDP and employment instead of rescuing existing businesses, as was the case in the last five years. The new development law will focus on productive sectors including energy, primary production, the food industry, innovation, tourism and activities related to the environment. Economy Minister George Stathakis has said he plans to increase the country’s public investment program by as much as four billion euros, with emphasis on small- to medium-sized businesses.
