zen (1)Zagori_Race_MG_4711North Face Zagori and the Zagori Excellence Network (ZEN) have joined forces for this year’s mountain running race to be held on July 24-26.

The North Face Zagori Mountain Running event consists of a series of 80km, 42km, 21km and 10km races and invites nature lovers and athletes to explore the region through its scenic trails and mountain roads.

“For some time now, we have been trying to highlight the importance of partnerships in ensuring the best promotion of the region,” the president of ZEN, Vassilis Katsoupas, said of the collaboration.

“With this in mind, we have supported successful initiatives such as this race, which demonstrates our support of the community and of local business.”

The Zagori Excellence Network (ZEN) is a private initiative and includes 14 hotels, two restaurants and two local companies. Through innovative actions, the network aims to promote the area as an all-year-round tourism destination and contribute to the sustainable growth of the local economy and community.

North Face Zagori Mountain Running creator and technical manager Vassilis Tzoumakas stressed the importance of volunteering and also said that love for one’s homeland is of vital importance.

“We are delighted to have found in the people of ZEN the willingness to offer and to participate in the joint promotion of our region and to work together towards providing more comprehensive services,” he added.
