Greece Tourism to Tap Into Middle Eastern Market

GDTS-2015Tapping into the potential of the Middle Eastern tourism market is at the core of two events to be held in Dubai on Wednesday, and in Istanbul on April 2.

The Dubai event comes in view of recent SETE Intelligence (InSETE) figures, revealing a 33 percent increase in the number of arrivals from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) last year. At the same time, all the more tour operators are expanding into Middle Eastern markets.

According to the latest international tourism figures, incoming tourism from the Middle East and North Africa is expected to produce revenue of up to 94 billion dollars in 2020.

“The United Arab Emirates, and Dubai in particular, are markets of special interest in our efforts to introduce and establish Greece as a luxury tourism destination attracting high-income visitors,” the general manager of private marketing company Marketing Greece, Iossif Parsalis, said.

“Especially now, with an increase in airline connections between Middle Eastern countries and Greece. Our strategy focuses on combining high quality services with the maximum experience.”

During the Dubai event, jointly organized by Rollerdeck Associates, Amuse Concept Events and Emirates, Marketing Greece will also present luxury tourism options available in Greece.

Participants include Blue Palace, Elounda Beach, Electra Hotels & Resorts, Grecotel Hotels & Resorts, Grand Resort Lagonissi, New Hotel, Sani Resort, SENTIDO Ixian Grand & Ixian All Suites and Variety Cruises.

The event will be held under the auspices of Marketing Greece with the support of the regions of Central Macedonia and of the Southern Aegean as well as of Athens International Airport.
